What you get
A Schengen visa dummy ticket is simply a flight reservation the consulate can verify. The itinerary is one document in a file that has to agree with itself, and this is the part we can make certain of.
Consulates want to see the whole journey, not the first sector. The reservation covers the flight in and the flight out.
The intended arrival and departure dates you type into the application must be the dates on the itinerary. We copy them exactly.
A hold that expired last week is worse than no ticket at all. We time the reservation around the VFS or consulate slot you have.
Given names and surname in the same order and spelling as the machine-readable strip, for every traveller on the file.

A Schengen decision rests on the file as a whole. The officer is checking that a real, funded, temporary trip is described consistently from the first page to the last.
We cannot promise a visa and nobody honestly can. What we can do is make sure the flight document is genuine, verifiable and carries the same dates as everything else you submit.
Applicants often ask whether a Schengen visa without flight booking is possible. In practice the Schengen visa flight booking is a standard checklist line, and leaving it out usually triggers a request for further documents, which costs weeks you may not have.

Cover for the full period of the trip. Insurers ask for the same dates you put on the application form.

A leave letter or enrolment letter tying you to Sri Lanka and to the exact dates you are away.
Validity beyond the trip and blank pages. Biometrics are taken at the centre on the day of the appointment.
Avoid these
Several Schengen consulates state you should not purchase before approval. A refusal then costs you the fare as well as the fee.
The single most common problem we see. The form says the 12th, the hotel says the 13th, the flight says the 11th.
Airline holds are short. Ordering three weeks before an appointment usually means ordering twice.
The file needs to show how you leave the Schengen area, not only how you get there.
