What you get

One dummy air ticket PDF that answers the flight question

Everything below is included in the price. There is no service fee added at the end and no subscription to cancel.

  • A live airline reservation

Your itinerary is held in the airline system with a six-character PNR. It is not a picture of a ticket or an edited PDF.

  • Names exactly as in the passport

Given names and surname printed the way the airline booking and your application form must match. Up to nine passengers on one reference.

  • Dates timed to your appointment

We set the hold so the booking is still live on the day you submit at VFS or the consulate, and we tell you the exact expiry.

  • One-way or return, any route

Return itineraries for Schengen and UK files, one-way plus an onward sector for arrival checks, multi-city for a longer trip.

  • Two free changes

Appointments move. Send the new dates on WhatsApp with your reference within 30 days and we reissue the PDF, usually the same day.

  • PDF by email and WhatsApp

Print it or upload it straight into the online portal. The booking reference sits at the top where an officer expects to find it.

A dummy flight itinerary for visa use is an unpaid reservation for documentation. It has no ticket number, so it cannot be used to check in or board. Buy the real fare once the visa is in your passport.

Who it is for

Written for the file you are putting together

Checklists and search results call this document different things: a dummy air ticket for visa files, a dummy airline ticket for visa purposes, a dummy flight booking for visa applications, or simply a visa dummy ticket. They all mean one thing, which is an unpaid airline reservation with a reference an officer can check.

  • Schengen applicants at VFS Colombo

Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland all ask for a reservation rather than a bought ticket.

  • UK, Canadian and Australian files

None of these require a purchased ticket. A reservation evidences the trip you described without committing you to a fare.

  • US interview appointments

Consular officers rarely ask for a ticket, but a specific itinerary makes the purpose and length of the trip concrete.

  • Families applying together

Everyone travels on one booking reference, which is what officers prefer to see for a family application.

  • Students and job applicants

Where a course start date or a joining date drives the trip, the itinerary has to match the letter you attach.

  • Anyone told to reapply

If a file was returned for missing travel details, a fresh reservation covering the new dates is usually all that is needed.

Checklists

What the checklists actually ask for

The wording differs by mission. Almost none of them ask you to buy a ticket first, and several tell you not to.

  • Schengen area

“Return flight reservation or booked ticket covering the full stay”

The Schengen visa code asks for evidence of your travel plan, and several consulates state that you should not buy a ticket before the decision. Keep the reservation dates identical to your cover letter and hotel booking.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

VFS Global Colombo, or the consulate directly

  • United Kingdom

“Details of your travel plans; a booked ticket is not required”

UKVI guidance says you do not need to buy a ticket before applying. A reservation supports the travel history section of your online form without committing you to a fare.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

    VFS Global Colombo

  • United States

“Evidence of travel plans, presented at interview if asked”

The consular officer decides at interview and rarely asks for a ticket. Carry the itinerary only as supporting evidence of a specific, funded trip.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

    US Embassy Colombo

  • Canada

“Travel itinerary or purpose of travel document”

IRCC asks you not to buy tickets before approval. Upload the reservation under travel history or purpose of travel in your online application.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

VFS Global Colombo, online IRCC portal

  • Australia

    “Details of intended travel”

Home Affairs does not require a ticket for a visitor visa. A reservation strengthens the “genuine temporary entrant” part of the file.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

ImmiAccount online, VFS Global Colombo for biometrics

  • Japan

“Flight schedule or itinerary for the whole stay”

Japanese missions ask for a day-by-day schedule. Make sure the arrival and departure dates on the reservation match that schedule exactly.

    Where Sri Lankans submit

Embassy of Japan Colombo, through an accredited agent

Wording is summarised from published checklists and changes without notice. Your appointment letter is always the document that decides what you must bring.

Three steps

How it works

Dummy ticket booking online, end to end: the form, one WhatsApp conversation and a PDF. Most tickets are delivered the same day.

  1. 01

    Tell us the trip

Route, dates, passenger names as printed in the passport and which embassy you are applying to. It takes about two minutes and asks for no payment details.

  2. 02

    We confirm and you pay

We check the itinerary on WhatsApp or email, then send bank transfer details or a card link. Nothing is charged until you have seen the itinerary.

  3. 03

    Your PDF arrives

The reservation lands in your inbox and on WhatsApp with the booking reference. Look it up on the airline site before you submit.

Price

LKR 5,490 per passenger

about $18

One price covers issuing the reservation, the PDF, the two free changes and the support that goes with them.

Nothing is charged when you send the form. We check the itinerary with you first, then send bank transfer details, or a PayPal or Wise request in USD if you are paying from abroad. If an appointment is today, urgent delivery under an hour is available for an extra LKR 1,000 (about $3).

How to check your PNR

Check any dummy ticket with PNR yourself before you submit. It takes a minute, and it is the same lookup a consular officer would run.

Live in the airline system, not an edited PDF.

  1. 01

    Open “Manage my booking”

Every airline has this page, usually in the top navigation. CheckMyTrip and ViewTrip work for most reservations as well.

  2. 02

    Enter the six-character reference

Type the PNR printed on the PDF together with the surname exactly as it appears on the reservation.

  3. 03

    Read the itinerary back

Flight numbers, dates and passenger names should match the PDF. If anything differs, message us and we will reissue.

FAQ

Questions about visa tickets

The six we are asked most before a Colombo appointment.

Travellers use flight reservations for Schengen, UK, US, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, Korean, Indian and GCC applications every day. What matters to the officer is that the itinerary is consistent with the rest of your file and that the booking reference resolves on the airline website. Match the dates on the ticket to the dates on your cover letter, hotel booking and leave letter, and check the PNR yourself before you submit.

Yes, and we would rather you checked it before they do. Every dummy ticket with PNR we issue is a live reservation in the airline’s own system, so the six-character code resolves on the airline website under “Manage my booking” or “My trips”, and on CheckMyTrip or ViewTrip for most GDS bookings. Enter the code together with the surname exactly as it is printed on the reservation. What the officer sees is your name, your flight numbers and your dates, plus the fact that the booking is unpaid, which is precisely what a reservation is meant to be. If the code ever fails to resolve, message us and we will reissue it.

Most airline holds last between 48 hours and 14 days depending on the airline and the route. We set the hold so that it is live on your submission date, and we tell you the exact expiry when we send the PDF. If your appointment moves, message us and we will reissue.

Every visa ticket includes up to two free date or route changes within 30 days of purchase. Send the new details on WhatsApp with your reference number and we will issue a fresh PDF, usually the same day.

No. We only need your given names and surname exactly as they are printed on the passport, plus your route and dates. Date of birth is optional for adults and required for children and infants. We never ask for passport scans, NIC copies, card details or bank statements.

Both are accepted, and they cost very different amounts. A refundable or fully flexible fare is a purchased ticket, so nobody can question it, but on a Colombo to Europe route it ties up several hundred thousand rupees, the refund typically takes four to twelve weeks, and taxes or a cancellation fee are often kept. A dummy ticket is LKR 5,490 per passenger and there is nothing to claim back, because nothing was paid to the airline. Take the flexible fare when the trip is certain, the refund terms are in writing and you can leave the money with the airline for a month or two. Take the reservation when you are still waiting on a decision. The one option to avoid is a cheap non-refundable ticket bought only for the file.

No. A dummy ticket is an unpaid reservation for documentation only. It has no ticket number, so it will not let you check in or board. When your visa is approved, buy the real ticket from the airline or your travel agent.
