The basics

What a dummy ticket is

Start here if you have not used one before. These answers cover what the document is, where its limits are, and how it differs from a fake flight ticket or a free dummy ticket.

A dummy ticket looks like a regular airline ticket and carries a valid PNR, also called a booking code or booking reference. A PNR is a six-character alphanumeric code issued by the airline. You can check it on the airline website under “Manage my booking” or “My trips”, and on ViewTrip or CheckMyTrip. A dummy ticket is also known as a flight reservation or an itinerary.

It is a real reservation held in the airline system, not an image or an edited PDF. That is the whole point of the service. The reservation is not paid for, so it is a hold rather than a flown ticket, which is why it costs a fraction of the fare.

No. A dummy ticket is an unpaid reservation for documentation only. It has no ticket number, so it will not let you check in or board. When your visa is approved, buy the real ticket from the airline or your travel agent.

No, and the difference is the whole point. A fake flight ticket is an image or a PDF edited to say something that was never booked. A dummy ticket is a real unpaid reservation. The gap shows up in about five seconds, because the first thing an officer does is type the reference into the airline’s “Manage my booking” page. A fake plane ticket returns nothing found, or somebody else’s itinerary under a different surname. An application missing a flight itinerary is merely incomplete and you can fix it; an application holding a document that fails verification raises a question about the parts of your file that were true. Submitting a forged document to a mission is deception under the immigration rules of essentially every country Sri Lankans apply to, and the re-entry ban that follows is measured in years. We book reservations and we never edit documents.

Not one that survives a check. Sites advertising a free dummy ticket, or a dummy ticket free online, do one of two things. Most generate a PDF from a template, so the booking reference belongs to nobody and returns nothing when an officer looks it up. The rest start a genuine airline booking and let you screenshot the hold before abandoning it, which expires within minutes and long before your appointment. A reservation a consulate can verify has to sit in an airline system for days, and somebody has to hold and maintain it. That is what the fee pays for.

Embassies

Acceptance and verification

What consulates do with the itinerary, whether a dummy ticket with PNR can be verified, how long the reservation stays live, and how to check it yourself.

Travellers use flight reservations for Schengen, UK, US, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, Korean, Indian and GCC applications every day. What matters to the officer is that the itinerary is consistent with the rest of your file and that the booking reference resolves on the airline website. Match the dates on the ticket to the dates on your cover letter, hotel booking and leave letter, and check the PNR yourself before you submit.

Yes, and we would rather you checked it before they do. Every dummy ticket with PNR we issue is a live reservation in the airline’s own system, so the six-character code resolves on the airline website under “Manage my booking” or “My trips”, and on CheckMyTrip or ViewTrip for most GDS bookings. Enter the code together with the surname exactly as it is printed on the reservation. What the officer sees is your name, your flight numbers and your dates, plus the fact that the booking is unpaid, which is precisely what a reservation is meant to be. If the code ever fails to resolve, message us and we will reissue it.

Most airline holds last between 48 hours and 14 days depending on the airline and the route. We set the hold so that it is live on your submission date, and we tell you the exact expiry when we send the PDF. If your appointment moves, message us and we will reissue.

Yes, and we encourage it. Open the airline’s “Manage my booking” page, enter the six-character PNR with the surname exactly as it appears on the ticket, and the itinerary will load. Some airlines take a few minutes to publish a new reservation. CheckMyTrip and ViewTrip work for most GDS bookings as well.

Nothing to cancel and nothing to lose. The reservation is unpaid, so it simply expires. Our fee covers issuing and supporting the document, so it is not refundable once the ticket has been delivered, but you have not spent anything on an airfare you cannot use.

Ordering

Delivery, details and changes

How fast it arrives, what we need from you, what happens when an appointment moves, and how a dummy ticket compares with a refundable fare.

Most tickets are delivered within one to six hours during support hours, which are 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sri Lanka time, seven days a week. If your appointment is today, tell us on WhatsApp and we will prioritise it. Urgent delivery under one hour is available for LKR 1,000 extra.

No. We only need your given names and surname exactly as they are printed on the passport, plus your route and dates. Date of birth is optional for adults and required for children and infants. We never ask for passport scans, NIC copies, card details or bank statements.

Every visa ticket includes up to two free date or route changes within 30 days of purchase. Send the new details on WhatsApp with your reference number and we will issue a fresh PDF, usually the same day.

We book on ten carriers that Sri Lankan travellers use most: SriLankan Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, flydubai, Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Air India, AirAsia and Air Arabia. You can request a preferred airline on the form, and we will use it where the route allows.

Both are accepted, and they cost very different amounts. A refundable or fully flexible fare is a purchased ticket, so nobody can question it, but on a Colombo to Europe route it ties up several hundred thousand rupees, the refund typically takes four to twelve weeks, and taxes or a cancellation fee are often kept. A dummy ticket is LKR 5,490 per passenger and there is nothing to claim back, because nothing was paid to the airline. Take the flexible fare when the trip is certain, the refund terms are in writing and you can leave the money with the airline for a month or two. Take the reservation when you are still waiting on a decision. The one option to avoid is a cheap non-refundable ticket bought only for the file.

Judge sellers on behaviour rather than on the word “best”. A service worth paying names the airline holding the booking, tells you where to look the reference up, mentions the expiry date without being asked, wants your names exactly as printed in the passport, refuses to promise that any document approves a visa, and says plainly that you cannot board a flight on it. A site that promises an instant PDF at three in the morning, never mentions expiry and cannot be reached afterwards is usually holding nothing on your behalf. The best website for dummy tickets, in the end, is whichever one gives you a reference that resolves on the airline’s own site, so ask that question before you pay.

Payment

Paying and support

There is no charge on the website. Payment happens after we have confirmed the itinerary with you.

Send the request form first, with no payment and no card details. We reply on WhatsApp or email to confirm the itinerary, then send the payment request. In Sri Lanka that is a bank transfer or card payment in LKR. From anywhere else it is a PayPal or Wise request in USD. The ticket is issued as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Yes. Travellers in India, the Gulf, South East Asia, Africa, Europe and elsewhere use the same service. Every price is shown in LKR and USD, and if you are outside Sri Lanka you pay the USD price by PayPal or Wise once we have confirmed your itinerary. Any other currency shown is an approximation for reference. Support is in English and runs on Sri Lanka time.
