A sample dummy ticket, field by field.

This is the layout your PDF follows. Nothing below is a real booking: the passenger is SAMPLE TRAVELLER and the reference is masked, so you can see the shape of the document without seeing anyone’s trip.

Not for travel

A sample dummy ticket showing passenger SAMPLE TRAVELLER, booking reference XXXXXX, and the route CMB to FRA on 12 OCT 2026.

A sample, not a booking. Your PDF carries the airline’s own reference, the real flight numbers for your route and the date the hold expires.

  1. 01

    On the ticket: Flight reservation

What the document says it is

The header says reservation, not ticket, and names the airline holding it. We do not print anything that implies the fare has been paid, because that is the line between a dummy ticket and a fake one.

  2. 02

    On the ticket: Passenger

Your name, as printed in the passport

Given names and surname in the same order and spelling as the machine-readable strip. This is the field officers compare against your application form, and the one that has to match when you look the booking up.

  3. 03

    On the ticket: Booking ref

The PNR, and the only code that matters

Six alphanumeric characters issued by the airline. Type it into “Manage my booking” with the surname and the itinerary loads. On the real PDF this is the first thing a consular officer looks for.

  4. 04

On the ticket: CMB → FRA

    The sectors, in order

Departure and arrival airports with their three-letter codes. A return itinerary shows both directions; a multi-city trip lists each sector on its own line with its own date.

  5. 05

On the ticket: Date and flight

When you fly, and on what

The date and the airline flight number for each sector. These must agree with the dates on your cover letter, hotel booking and application form, to the day.

  6. 06

    On the ticket: Cabin

    The class of travel

Economy unless you ask for business. It changes nothing about how the reservation verifies, but it should match whatever you told the consulate about the trip.

  7. 07

On the ticket: Verifiable under “Manage my booking”

    The status line

A reminder of where to check the reference. A confirmed dummy ticket is live in the airline system from the moment it is issued until the hold expires, and we tell you that expiry date when we send the PDF.

  8. 08

On the ticket: Not for travel

    The honest disclaimer

An unpaid reservation has no ticket number, so it cannot be used to check in or board. It is a documentation tool. Buy the real fare once the visa is in your passport.

Through their eyes

What an officer checks first

A visa officer has minutes, not hours. They are not reading the itinerary for pleasure; they are checking whether the trip you described is real, funded and temporary.

The strongest file is the boring one, where every document says the same thing. Read more in the full FAQ.

  • Does the reference resolve?

Anyone can produce a PDF. Only a real reservation loads on the airline website, which is why the PNR is the first thing checked.

  • Do the dates agree?

The itinerary, the hotel booking, the insurance and the cover letter should describe the same trip, on the same days.

  • Is the name identical?

A middle name on the form but not on the booking is enough to send a file back. We print exactly what you give us.

  • Is the trip plausible?

A route a carrier actually flies, a stay that fits the visa, a return that leaves before the permission ends.

Verification

How to check your PNR

Check any dummy ticket with PNR yourself before you submit. It takes a minute, and it is the same lookup a consular officer would run.

Live in the airline system, not an edited PDF.

  1. 01

    Open “Manage my booking”

Every airline has this page, usually in the top navigation. CheckMyTrip and ViewTrip work for most reservations as well.

  2. 02

    Enter the six-character reference

Type the PNR printed on the PDF together with the surname exactly as it appears on the reservation.

  3. 03

    Read the itinerary back

Flight numbers, dates and passenger names should match the PDF. If anything differs, message us and we will reissue.

FAQ

Questions about the document

What the PDF is, and what it is not.

It is a real reservation held in the airline system, not an image or an edited PDF. That is the whole point of the service. The reservation is not paid for, so it is a hold rather than a flown ticket, which is why it costs a fraction of the fare.

Yes, and we encourage it. Open the airline’s “Manage my booking” page, enter the six-character PNR with the surname exactly as it appears on the ticket, and the itinerary will load. Some airlines take a few minutes to publish a new reservation. CheckMyTrip and ViewTrip work for most GDS bookings as well.

Yes, and we would rather you checked it before they do. Every dummy ticket with PNR we issue is a live reservation in the airline’s own system, so the six-character code resolves on the airline website under “Manage my booking” or “My trips”, and on CheckMyTrip or ViewTrip for most GDS bookings. Enter the code together with the surname exactly as it is printed on the reservation. What the officer sees is your name, your flight numbers and your dates, plus the fact that the booking is unpaid, which is precisely what a reservation is meant to be. If the code ever fails to resolve, message us and we will reissue it.

No, and the difference is the whole point. A fake flight ticket is an image or a PDF edited to say something that was never booked. A dummy ticket is a real unpaid reservation. The gap shows up in about five seconds, because the first thing an officer does is type the reference into the airline’s “Manage my booking” page. A fake plane ticket returns nothing found, or somebody else’s itinerary under a different surname. An application missing a flight itinerary is merely incomplete and you can fix it; an application holding a document that fails verification raises a question about the parts of your file that were true. Submitting a forged document to a mission is deception under the immigration rules of essentially every country Sri Lankans apply to, and the re-entry ban that follows is measured in years. We book reservations and we never edit documents.

No. A dummy ticket is an unpaid reservation for documentation only. It has no ticket number, so it will not let you check in or board. When your visa is approved, buy the real ticket from the airline or your travel agent.

Most airline holds last between 48 hours and 14 days depending on the airline and the route. We set the hold so that it is live on your submission date, and we tell you the exact expiry when we send the PDF. If your appointment moves, message us and we will reissue.
