What a Emirates reservation looks like

It reads like the itinerary Emirates sends after a purchase, because it is produced the same way. The only difference is that the booking has not been paid for.

There is no ticket number and no seat assignment, which is normal for a reservation and is not something any embassy checklist asks for.

  • Booking reference

Six characters, letters and digits, issued by Emirates and valid in its system.

  • Flights and route

EK flight numbers, dates, times and every connection, printed in order.

  • Passenger name

Exactly as printed in your passport, which is what the verification check compares.

  • Issue and validity

Timed so the reservation is live on your submission or travel date, not weeks before.

How to check the PNR with Emirates

Do it yourself before you submit. It takes under a minute and needs only the reference and the surname on the booking.

  1. Open Emirates Manage Booking

Type the domain yourself rather than following a search result, because lookalike sites target these pages.

  2. Enter the reference and surname

Choose “Manage your booking” and enter the reference plus surname.

  3. Read the itinerary that opens

Confirm the spelling of your name, the flight numbers and every date while corrections are still free.

Popular routes from Colombo

These are the EK routings Sri Lankan applicants ask for most. Any other route on the network is fine too.

  • CMB → DXB Dubai
  • CMB → DXB → LHR London
  • CMB → DXB → JFK New York
  • CMB → DXB → FRA Frankfurt
  • CMB → DXB → MAN Manchester

How long the hold lasts

An unpaid reservation is a hold, and holds expire. Full-service carriers typically leave one live for several days; low-cost carriers hold for a shorter window. Tell us your submission or departure date and we issue so the reference is live when it is read.

FAQ

Emirates dummy ticket questions

Emirates covers almost every visa destination through Dubai in one connection, so a single reference shows the whole journey.

Typically a few days. We set it so that it is live on your submission date and tell you the exact expiry when we send the PDF.
