Free dummy tickets and fake ticket generators: what you actually get
There is a reason nobody gives away a verifiable airline reservation. Understanding what the free tools actually produce is the quickest way to see why they fail at the counter.

In short
- Free generators produce a document, not a booking. The reference belongs to nobody.
- A live reservation costs money to hold, which is why no honest service can give one away.
- The check that catches a fake takes five seconds and needs no training.
- A failed document damages the credible parts of your file, not just the itinerary.
What the free tools actually produce
Search for a free dummy ticket, for a way to create dummy ticket free of charge, or for a fake ticket for visa purposes, and the results sort into three groups. They look similar on the results page and behave nothing alike.
Template generators
You type a name, a route and a date into a web form, and a PDF comes back styled like an airline itinerary. Nothing was booked. The booking reference is either random characters or a fixed string reused for every visitor of that site.
Abandoned-booking screenshots
Some guides walk you through starting a real booking on an airline site and capturing the confirmation screen before paying. That hold is genuine for a few minutes to a few hours, then it is released. By your appointment date it resolves to nothing.
Editable sample files
Genuine itineraries circulated as templates, complete with somebody else’s reference, for you to edit. This is the most convincing to look at and the most dangerous to submit.
The wording on those pages shifts to match whatever people type, so their buttons say create a dummy ticket one week and make dummy ticket online free the next, but the output is the same template each time. Whether the promise is a dummy air ticket free, a dummy flight ticket free or a free dummy ticket with PNR, the mechanism underneath is one of the three above.
None of them holds a seat for you. A real reservation costs the seller a booking they have to make and maintain, and no business absorbs that repeatedly for nothing. That is the whole reason the free version cannot exist in a form an officer can check.
How the check actually works
People assume verification is some consular database with special access. It is not. It is the same public page you would use, and it takes about five seconds. Our guide to verifying a PNR walks through the exact pages, but the shape of it is simple.
- Open the airline’s “Manage my booking” or “My trips” page, or CheckMyTrip or ViewTrip.
- Type the six-character reference together with the surname as printed on the document.
- Read what comes back and compare it with the paper in front of you.
That is the whole procedure. Not every file is checked, and no officer will tell you which ones are, so the only safe assumption is that yours will be. A document that cannot survive a lookup anyone can perform is not a document worth submitting.
What goes wrong, in order of severity
The failure modes are predictable, and they scale from awkward to serious depending on which of the three products you used.
| What you submitted | What the lookup returns | How it reads |
|---|---|---|
| A generated PDF | Booking not found | The document was manufactured |
| An expired hold | Booking not found, or cancelled | Careless at best, misleading at worst |
| An edited real itinerary | A stranger’s trip, or a surname mismatch | A forged document |
| A dummy boarding pass | No such flight for this passenger | An attempt to imply travel that never happened |
The important damage is not to the itinerary line on the checklist. An application that is simply missing a flight booking is incomplete, and you can supply it. An application containing a document that failed verification raises a credibility question about everything else in the file, including your employment letter, your bank statements and your stated reason for travelling. Those were probably all true, and they now sit beside something that was not.
Where the legal line sits
Holding a booking you may never pay for is ordinary travel-industry behaviour. Airlines built the hold function deliberately, agents use it every day, and most consulates prefer a reservation to a purchase. That is why a dummy ticket is not a fake ticket, despite the two words being used interchangeably online.
Editing a document so that it states something untrue is a different act entirely. Presenting a fake flight ticket, a fake plane ticket or a fake itinerary to a mission is deception under the immigration rules of essentially every country Sri Lankans apply to. UK rules treat deception as grounds for a re-entry ban measured in years. Schengen missions record refusals in a shared system that later applications are checked against. The document that seemed to save a few thousand rupees follows the passport, not the file.
The honest alternative, and how to test any seller
The alternative is unglamorous: pay somebody to hold a real booking for the days you need it. That is the entire product. It is not clever, and it is why the price is small rather than free.
Whoever you buy from, including us, apply the same test before you pay. Ask which airline holds the booking, ask when the hold expires, and then look the reference up yourself on the airline’s own website. Five signals separate a booking service from a document shop.
- They invite verification. A real service tells you where to check and expects you to do it.
- They talk about expiry. Holds have a lifespan. Silence about it means nothing is being held.
- They want your name as per passport. A forger does not need it correct; a booking does.
- They will not promise approval. No document decides a visa, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing.
- They say you cannot fly on it. An unpaid reservation has no ticket number, and an honest seller leads with that.
Everything we issue is meant to pass that test, and if one ever does not, we reissue it. You can see the layout field by field on the sample ticket page. A visa reservation is LKR 5,490 per passenger with two free date changes, and if you would rather compare it against buying a flexible fare outright, read refundable ticket vs dummy ticket before you decide.
This guide is general information for travellers, not legal or immigration advice. Rules and checklists change, so read the current requirements for your own mission before you submit. A flight reservation is unpaid and cannot be used to check in or board a flight, and no document guarantees a visa decision.
