How to choose a genuine dummy ticket website: a checklist, the red flags and a five-minute test

Search for a dummy ticket and you will find dozens of sites that look alike, charge similar amounts and promise the same PDF. A few hold a real reservation on your behalf. The rest generate a picture. Here is how to tell them apart before you pay, and how to test the document after it arrives.

In short

  • A genuine dummy ticket website holds a live, unpaid airline reservation and gives you a six-character PNR that opens on the airline’s own Manage my booking page. A generator produces a PDF with a reference that resolves nowhere.
  • Before paying, check that the company is named with a real address and contact, that the expiry date is stated, that payment comes after the itinerary is confirmed, and that nobody asks for card details or passport scans they do not need.
  • Treat the words “fake”, “generator”, “instant” and “guaranteed visa” as disqualifying. A site that will not say you cannot board on the document is not describing a reservation.
  • After delivery, run the five-minute test: look the PNR up on the airline site with your surname. If nothing opens, do not submit it, and ask for a reissue or a refund.

What a genuine dummy ticket website actually does

A genuine dummy ticket website is one that creates a real, unpaid reservation in an airline’s system and sends you the six-character booking reference that proves it, rather than a PDF designed to look like one. The difference is not cosmetic. An officer, a check-in agent or a visa centre clerk verifies a flight document by typing the reference into the airline website. A held reservation opens with your name and itinerary. A generated one returns nothing, and the file that contained it is treated as containing a false document.

The best dummy ticket website, then, is not the cheapest or the fastest. It is whichever one gives you a reference that resolves on the carrier’s own site for as long as you need it, and tells you the truth about what the document can and cannot do. If you are new to the product, the explanation of what a dummy ticket is and the comparison with a fake ticket set out why the distinction carries legal weight.

The checklist: ten questions to ask any dummy ticket site

Work through these before you pay. Any single failure on the first four is enough to walk away. The rest are the difference between a service you can rely on and one you will be chasing on the day of your appointment.

Ten questions that separate a reservation service from a generator
QuestionGenuine serviceWarning sign
Do you get a real PNR that opens on the airline website within minutes?Yes, and the site tells you where to check itA reference that only appears on the PDF, or vague talk of “verification”
Is the exact expiry stated?Yes, unprompted, with the PDFNo mention of expiry, or “valid for the visa process”
Is the company named, with an address and contact?A registered company, a city, a phone number and an answered emailA brand name, a contact form and nothing else
When do they take payment? After the itinerary is confirmed with youCard checkout before anyone has read your route
What personal data do they ask for?Names as printed in the passport, route, dates, date of birth for childrenPassport scans, ID copies, stored card details
Do they promise visa approval? No, and they say so plainly“Guaranteed acceptance”, “100% approval”
Do they use the words “fake” or “generator”?NeverAnywhere on the site, including the URL
Is the PDF editable?A flat document issued from the bookingA template you can type into, or a PDF with form fields
Are the reviews plausible?Specific, dated, mixed in tone, naming real routes and centresIdentical five-star lines, no dates, stock photos
Is there a refund or reissue policy?Written down: reissue if the hold lapses, refund if the reference never resolvesNo policy, or one that excludes everything

The first question does most of the work. A site that holds a reservation has nothing to lose by telling you how to check it, because the check is the product. A site that cannot survive the check will steer you towards internal verification portals or references that “activate” later.

A live reservation versus a PDF generator

A reservation service books through an airline or a global distribution system such as Amadeus or Sabre, creates a hold under your name and issues the PDF from that booking. The airline is holding a seat, the reference is the airline’s, and the hold lasts as long as the airline allows, typically from 48 hours to 14 days depending on carrier and route. The guide to flight reservations without payment compares this with the other honest ways to hold a flight.

A generator takes the details you type into a form, drops them into a template and invents a six-character string for the booking reference box. It costs nothing to run, which is why generators offer instant delivery at any hour and prices close to zero. Nothing exists in any airline system, and unlike a lapsed reservation, which was once real, the document was never real at all.

  • Delivery time: a reservation takes a person and a booking system, so expect hours during stated support hours. Instant delivery at 3 am is a template.
  • Airline choice: a reservation service names the carriers it books on. A generator offers any logo you like.
  • Ticket number: a reservation has a PNR and no thirteen-digit ticket number, because nothing was paid. A document showing both is a purchased fare or a fabrication.
  • Changes: a reservation service reissues when your date moves. A generator lets you edit the PDF yourself.

Red flags that should end the conversation

  • Payment before confirmation. A service that reads your route before charging is checking that the hold is possible. A card form on the landing page is charging for a template.
  • Requests for passport scans or card details. A reservation needs names, a route and dates. A site collecting passport images and card numbers has a reason for it, and it is not your booking.
  • Promises about the visa. No document decides a visa. A site that says otherwise is not a good guide to the rest of its claims.
  • No expiry mentioned. Every airline hold expires. A service that does not tell you when is either not holding anything or does not want you to find out it lapsed before your appointment.
  • Anonymous operation. No company name, no address, no phone number, no reply to email. When the reference fails at the centre there will be nobody to reissue it.

None of these flags requires expertise to spot. They are visible on the site before you type your name. If a site passes all of them, you still verify the document after delivery, because the test is cheap and the cost of skipping it is a refused file. The pricing guide explains what a reasonable price covers and why.

The five-minute verification test after delivery

Run this on every document you receive, from any seller, before it goes into a file or is shown at a counter. It is the same check the officer will make.

  1. Find the PNR on the PDF

It is a six-character mix of letters and numbers, labelled booking reference, booking code, PNR or record locator. Note the airline on the first flight.

  2. Open the airline’s own website

Go to the carrier’s site directly, not through a link in the seller’s email, and find Manage my booking or My trips.

  3. Enter the reference and the surname

Use the surname exactly as printed on the PDF. Some airlines want the surname of the first passenger, some accept any passenger. If the airline has only just received the booking, wait ten minutes and try again.

  4. Compare what opens with the PDF

Names, flight numbers, dates and airports should match line for line. The status will show as a reservation or on hold, without a ticket number, which is correct.

  5. Try a second lookup

For most bookings made through a global distribution system, CheckMyTrip or ViewTrip will also open the itinerary with the same reference and surname. It is a second chance before you raise it with the seller.

  6. Note the expiry and check again the night before

A reservation that opens today can lapse next week. Look it up again the evening before the appointment or the flight, and ask for a reissue if it has gone.

The PNR verification guide walks through the lookup pages of the airlines we book on, including the ones that hide Manage my booking behind a login. Our sample dummy ticket shows where the reference sits on the PDF and what a correctly issued reservation looks like next to the airline page.

What to do if a document fails the test

A reference that does not open has one of three explanations. The booking is too new and the airline has not published it yet, which resolves within the hour. The hold has lapsed, which a reservation service fixes by reissuing. Or nothing was ever booked, which no amount of waiting will fix.

  1. Do not submit the document or show it at a counter. A file missing an itinerary is incomplete and can be completed. A file containing a reference that resolves nowhere is a different problem.
  2. Contact the seller with the reference, the surname you used and a screenshot of the airline page. A genuine service will explain a delay, reissue the hold or refund you. A generator will go quiet or send another PDF with a new invented reference.
  3. If the seller cannot produce a reference that opens, ask for a refund under their published policy, and dispute the payment with your card issuer or PayPal if they refuse. Keep the correspondence.
  4. Get a reservation from a service that meets the checklist, timed to your appointment or flight, and run the test again.

How we answer the same checklist

We hold live reservations on ten carriers, send the PNR with the PDF and encourage you to look it up on the airline site before your appointment. The expiry is stated with every ticket, and every visa ticket includes up to two free date or route changes within 30 days. The company is Cleverhub Private Limited in Colombo, reachable on WhatsApp and email during support hours, and payment is requested only after the itinerary is confirmed with you: bank transfer or card in LKR inside Sri Lanka, PayPal or Wise in USD from abroad. We never ask for card details or passport scans. A visa ticket costs LKR 5,490 (about $18) per passenger. The how it works page shows each step, and the request form is where a reservation starts.

Questions people ask

How do I know if a dummy ticket website is legit?
Check whether it gives you a real six-character PNR that opens on the airline website, states the exact expiry, names its company with an address and contact, and takes payment only after confirming your itinerary. Then verify the reference yourself after delivery.
What is the best dummy ticket website?
The one whose reference resolves on the airline’s own Manage my booking page for as long as you need it, and which tells you plainly that the document cannot be used to board. Judge sites on that behaviour rather than on price or speed.
Is a dummy ticket generator the same as a dummy ticket service?
No. A generator fills a template with an invented reference and nothing is held in any airline system. A service creates a real unpaid reservation that the airline site recognises. Only the second survives a check.
Should a dummy ticket website ask for my passport copy?
No. A reservation needs your names exactly as printed in the passport, your route and your dates, plus date of birth for children. Passport scans and card details stored on a site are unnecessary for the booking and are a warning sign.
What if my dummy ticket does not show on the airline website?
Do not submit it. Contact the seller with the reference and a screenshot of the airline page. A genuine service will explain the delay, reissue or refund. If they cannot produce a reference that opens, dispute the payment and get a reservation elsewhere.

This guide is general information for travellers, not legal or immigration advice. Rules and checklists change, so read the current requirements for your own mission before you submit. A flight reservation is unpaid and cannot be used to check in or board a flight, and no document guarantees a visa decision.
